So long Mr Beckham...

Imagine David Beckham is unable to recover from this injury well enough to play at a competitive level again.

You work for learnnewsdesk and we want to publish a tribute article about Beckham - where he came from, the highlights of his career and of course his injuries and plans for the future.

You need to research and write your article, which should be about 250 words long in just one hour!

Use the internet to help with your research and make some notes as you go - then have a go at writing your article. Make your sentences short and punchy and remember to stick to the facts - this is not an article about what you or your friends think of him but details of his life. Make sure it is fair and balanced!

When you have finished you could print them and then ask a friend to edit them - they need to look carefully for spelling mistakes and other errors and they need to make suggestions about how you could make the copy better!

What do you think about Beck's plight - will he be missed in the World Cup or is it time for him to move over and let some younger talent have a go? Don't keep your thoughts to yourself - just click on Have your say and let everyone know! Or send longer reports or podcasts to Be a reporter and we will put the best online.
