A woman is planning to hula hoop her way up the highest mountain in Africa to help raise money for a close friend with cancer.

Julianne McGregor plans to walk most of the way up the 5,895m peak in Tanzania, stopping at regular points to pull out her hula-hoop and have a few spins.

The 27 year-old is raising money for the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) to support her American friend Megan Houchins, who has thyroid cancer.

Megan, 31, who lives in Columbus, Ohio, has been battling the disease since she was 21.
