A man with learning difficulties has collapsed and died outside his home in Hattersley, Greater Manchester after being tormented by a group of youths.

The man, 64 year-old David Askew, had been targeted by the yobs for more than a decade, neighbours claimed.

One neighbour said he had been "tormented to death - like bear baiting."

Officers were called to the address on Melandra Crescent on Wednesday night after being told that the youths were causing "an annoyance."

When they arrived they found that David had collapsed and the youths had run away. David later died at the scene.
