England's most capped outfield player David Beckham is out of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Becks ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan against Chievo on Sunday.
He has been flown to Finland for an operation but England manager Fabio Capello has said: "It looks like he is out of the World Cup."
The World Cup starts on June 11th.
It will be three months before he can run and at least six months before he can even begin to think about playing again.
The injury happened suddenly while Becks was playing football on Sunday - he limped off the field before medics could bring on a stretcher.
